Serous Bar Stool

Serous (meaning fluid like), is a modern piece of furniture art defined by its infinite geometrical lines, modern aesthetics, and fluid design.

The A-symmetrical shape is formidably difficult to produce in metal as a seamless solid form, and so it is forged with absolute care from start to finish, ensuring the finest quality possible. The elegant form has been realized through several stages of digital design technology, modern manufacturing, and ancient casting methods. A mother mold that forms the anomalous shape is hand crafted by a highly skilled foundry artist traditionally trained in fine art metal sculpture making. Once a de-waxed hollow “shell mold” (resulting from a wax duplicate of the mother mold) has passed a series of quality tests, it is cast in high grade molten Aluminum at temperatures up to 1500°F then allowed to cool for half a day. The process takes nearly two weeks. Finally, to complete its refinement, it takes an additional eight hours to hand polish every inch of its intricate surface producing an ultra reflective polished Aluminum finish.

Inspired by the elegant and luxurious bars and lounge environments of the Aria, Vdara, & Cosmopolitan Hotels on the Las Vegas Strip at City Center. I wanted to create an original chair attractive enough to be in the company of such amazing architecture and design. Cast in high grade aluminum and hand polished.
